CE-Platform – Inspiring reading from shelf to screen

by Liezl Aileen Nuñez

The print revolution, following Johannes Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press in the 15th Century, is an exceedingly important event that paved the way for the modern period. Suddenly, the book was no longer exclusive to obscure libraries of the elite nor was it too costly for the masses to afford.

More than a half of a millennium has gone by and the book is again teetering on another “print” revolution—only this time no printing press, paper, or ink is involved. Publishing trends nowadays are leaning more and more towards the direction of all things electronic, collectively referred to as e-Publishing.

And now, in the local scene, C&E Publishing, Inc. is bringing forth the many incredible benefits that Filipino writers and readers will reap with its new project, the CE-Platform.

CE-Platform aims to be the Philippine’s biggest aggregation of locally-authored academic, professional, and trade reading resources in their digitized formats. This Web-based platform offers quality e-Books to avid readers, libraries, and institutions to Filipinos and people all over the world—in just a click or two. And if you’ve already got an e-Book reader, you can conveniently read your favorite Filipino academics and writers wherever and whenever you want to! Plus, free e-Books from literary giants can be downloaded from the site as well.

CE-Platform also offers amateur and professional writers the opportunity to publish their works online.
