Welcome to Mrs. P’s Magic Library!
by Katrina Del Rosario

Sometimes, all of a sudden and out of the blue, we get struck by an unexpected fancy of wanting to read (it’s strange but it’s true!). But alas! There are no books in the house and the library is too far away. And when one overcomes the stubborn laziness to get there, the librarian doesn’t cut us much slack. The rigidity of most libraries (not all of them!) discourages us from the warm joys of reading, which for the most part, does not involve general discomfort. Wouldn’t you want to just lie down, prop open any book at your leisure, or much better even, have somebody read to you while you close your eyes and imagine away?

If you found yourself nodding for the past five seconds, then Mrs. P’s Library is exactly the right place for you! It’s a fun, interactive online library where you can browse Mrs. P’s online collection of books from all different genres. You can choose to read on your own, or sit back and let Mrs. P read to you. But the fun doesn’t end there, you can explore the library by interacting with everything in it. Poke Mrs. P awake as she sits idle in the middle of her magic library. Click on the plants and have them say “Hello!” Play games with Mrs. P’s dog, Spyri. Visit the Scary Room behind the bookcase and listen to the creepy talking doll...and so much more!

Meander in the Magic Library

Pull open the bookshelf and browse the library’s books. You can pick between shelves labelled “LOLs” (funny stuff), “Happy Endings,” “Stories about Adventure," “Stories about Boys,” “Stories about girls,” and “Stories about Vegetables.” Browse through classic fairy tales like Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty, The Frog Prince, and The Emperor’s New Clothes by clicking on the pile of books on the floor—anything that strikes your fancy, you can find in this magical library. You can also find books written by kids (you read that right—kids!) by clicking the Raggedy Anne Doll! Don’t worry; if you get lost or don’t know what to click on next, simply click the “How To” button located at the bottom of the screen to get hints.
